other events on the deck

i spend a lot of time baking because putting ingredients together and making something homemade makes me really happy. however, it is not really that do-able for me to set aside time for baking. instead i try to make it occur as i live my normal life. this results in a lot of mistakes and frequent burns. but it makes me really happy. one day i totally forgot about the cookies in the oven and they ended up burned to a crisp, the kind of burned where they will smell the whole house up if you don't take them outside. so i took them and put them on the screened-in back porch. the next day we look out the window and find
do you see that guilty squirrel eating my burned cookie!?! it didn't even bother climbing away from the porch, it just chilled there feasting like it was no biggie. a photo shoot commenced since this was unbelievable. welcome to the fun house.

today i am wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt. this is my first non-summer attire since 5/09.

also, grandma made me pillow cases for the sun room which are soooooooo pretty. the fabric was selected on a family fabric trip consisting of pam, craig, helen, barb, and myself. the fabric consists of .... the SOLAR SYSTEM. i'm unsure it could get any better.


now that i'm 28 i've realized i have few interests. mostly: robots, space, nature

toothy tuesday

smelled toast with butter this morning on my walk in to school. you need teeth to eat it.

currently in class learning about primary care. apparently, 70,000 people get bitten by a human every year - but those are just the ones that report it. comparatively, only 8,000 people get bitten by snakes a year.

i have a sweet picture but the blog hates pictures today and won't let me upload. may need to take a bite out of it later.

i got an email back from my preceptor today, which was very straight-forward and to the point. she only works in the mornings. another NP who will work with me as well works only in the afternoons. nobody works fridays.
